Planters of exceptional beauty and quality set special accents on the terrace, in a courtyard or in the garden for generations to come. The planter Antony presents flowers, grasses and small trees or shrubs throughout the year, and should the occasion arise, can easily be transported to a different location. The purist planters are meticulously handcrafted in a manufactory near Dresden.

Urban style

With purist design the Antony planters show off their horticultural beauties to great effect. The grey powder-coated surface of the planter gives it an elegant and robust appearance.

Outstanding durability

Especially high-quality aluminium with powder-coating, sustainably thought-out design, and sophisticated system that prevents waterlogging and also offers frost-protection, all ensure that the beauty and quality of the Antony planter will delight its owners for generations to come.

Protection against waterlogging

To ensure that all plants are protected from becoming waterlogged, Antony planters are equipped with lava stones, filter fleece and circular tubing. The latter can be placed in the bottom of the planter and hold a maximum water level of 2 cm. Surplus water drains off.

Variable positioning

The Antony planter can be fitted with concealed industrial castors that hold the container a few centimetres from the ground, producing a floating impression. We recommend that the castors are ordered together with the planter so that these may be mounted by our personnel on delivery. Smooth recessed grips on the inner sides of the planter are an additional help when a smaller move is required. The delivery also includes a blind plug. When in use it prevents water from escaping and so allows the Antony planter to be placed indoors without the worry of damage being done to sensitive flooring.

Practical accessories

The easily mountable trellis attachment made of polished stainless steel is not only an elegantly attractive decoration, but also provides additional support for plants. You will find the trellis under ‘Related products’ further down the page.

Against frost

The particularly resistant aluminium used for the Antony plant containers is absolutely weatherproof and reliably withstands moisture and permafrost. Furthermore, the double-walled sides with integrated insulation material protect plants against light frost (up to max. -9 °C).

Winter protection for sensitive plants

Non-hardy potted plants must be brought indoors well before the frost period begins. Some Mediterranean plants such as olive, agapanthus, fig or oleander can withstand temperatures as low as minus five degrees and can thus remain outdoors until November. For these species, a greenhouse or conservatory make ideal winter quarters. A cool, bright room, a stairwell or a cellar with good ventilation also offer suitable conditions for overwintering. During the dormant period, the plants should be watered sparingly.

Winter-hardy plants such as ornamental grasses, boxwood, hydrangeas, roses or small shrubs also need additional protection at sub-zero temperatures, to prevent the root ball from freezing through. Suitable materials such as coconut mats or sheep's wool, jute or fleece, can be used to cover the sides of the tubs. Parts of the plants above ground can also be protected from frost with jute or light-coloured fleece, and a coconut disc or a layer of cardboard provide extra insulation for the root ball. Feet and rollers that hold the container off the ground, also prevent the water drainage hole from freezing. During the winter outdoors this should not be closed with the blind plug.
